RME ADI-648 Multichannel Audio Digital Interface

ADAT optical and back. MADI offers 64 channels 24 Bit Audio at up to 48 kHz Sample frequency, and 32 cahnnels at up to 96 kHz. The transfer takes place over a single pipeline, either coaxial with BNC plugs or glass fiber (optional) with cable lengths over 100 meters. The MADI-channels are over 8 ADAT optical In- and Outputs on TOSLINK. Also, the ADI-648 has an easy to configure 8-channel 16x16 Matrix Router. It delivers Wordclock in Single or Double Speed, splits 96 kHz signals in Double Wide processing into the MADI-stream and over Sample Split (S/MUX) on the ADAT Ports, but also controlls the double MADI-beat (96K Frame). Naturally, you can also cascade as many devices as you want and synchronise sample-exact over Wordclock.
