Roland HS-5 Session Mixer overview:

  • Up to five instruments can be connected via jack sockets (L/R stereo) or up to four dynamic microphones via XLR sockets.
  • XLR connector and jack connectors of one section (A-D) can be used in parallel, e.g. for a keyboard player who also uses a microphone.
  • Gain control and compressor effect for the microphone signals Equalizer (bass, mid, treble) and pan control
  • Five headphone outputs (section A-D: 4x stereo jack+mini jack stereo, section E: 1x mini jack stereo for MAIN MIX OUT)
  • MAIN MIX OUT jacks (jack L/R) for connecting an external amplifier system
  • Hi-Z switch (for adjusting the signal strength on electric guitar) on the bottom of the unit "Sub Mix" function for setting your own monitor mix per participant (MIX A-E).
  • Sections A-E have adjustment knobs with clear LED circle display.
  • "MY MIX" knob for adjusting the volume balance between "own signal" and "signals of the other participants"
  • Snapshot function for saving mixer settings to a USB stick connected to the unit
  • COSM Amp Modeling (allows direct connection of a guitar or bass guitar without upstream external effect device), vocal effects, built-in reverb processor Built-in metronome, input of the desired tempo by pressing the CLICK button several times
  • Stereo recording directly to a USB stick connected to the HS-5 (44.1 kHz/16-bit, up to 48 hours on a 32 gigabyte USB stick, up to 200 minutes per song, up to 512 songs on a USB stick)
  • Direct playback of the recording on the device or using a computer or audio player with USB stick connection
  • Transfer of the participants' playing as a multitrack recording to a computer connected via USB to the HS-5
  • Stable mounting of the unit on a Roland PDS-10 stand (additional accessory)
  • Two HS-5 units can be cascaded (up to eight participants in one group)

The Roland HS-5 Session Mixer is a digital mixer for playing and practicing over headphones for bands, ensembles, etc. Up to five instruments or four microphones and up to five headphones can be connected. This makes the HS-5 ideal for practicing at home, for use in a music school, or even as a central headphone mixer for a band setup.
