With the Sandberg Special Edition Forty Eight Racing Car Soft Aged, the Brunswick-based company is celebrating its 35th anniversary with a Bass in the distinctive Gulf style that can be used to lay down rich grooves for any rock and metal band. Beneath the soft-aged finish with the authentically reproduced, subtle playing marks of a lovingly cared-for vintage instrument, the E-Bass hides an alder body, while the six-piece maple neck features an ebony fingerboard. Sandberg Split coil and power humbucker pickups in aged nickel caps and an active 2-band tone control provide the bass amp with plenty of steam and driving bass sounds with a pressing low end. naturally a Sandberg Bridge 4 and Sandberg Machine Heads complete the Special Edition Forty Eight Racing Car SoftAged by Sandberg.
Alder body and six-bolt neck.
In the construction of the Special Edition Forty Eight Racing Car, the bass builders from Braunschweig pay special attention to a lively tone and comfortable handling. In addition to the large alder body, a six-piece maple neck with ebony fingerboard is used, whereby the flat C-profile offers optimal playing characteristics. Between the 22 frets also large block inlays mark the layers.
Sandberg Pickups with Aged Nickel Covers
Under the mighty aged-nickel covers, a flexible setup of a Sandberg split-coil in the middle position and a Sandberg power humbucker at the bridge provides punchy bass tones that range from the juicy, wirey assertion of the bridge pickup to the growling low-mid thrust of the midrange pickup. To adjust the tone, a musically tuned, active 2-band tone control is also on board. By activating the push-pull switch in the volume control, the four-stringer can also be played in passive mode.
Sandberg Hardware
Of course, the Racing Car Forty Eight is completed by the SandbergHardware known for its unshakable reliability. On the body sits the Sandberg Bridge 4 with three-dimensional adjustment possibilities for intonation, string spacing and string action, while on the headstock behind zero fret and nut four Sandberg Machine Heads ensure an exact and robust tuning of the E-Bass.
