The Beyerdynamic A2 is an audiophile headphone amplifier for a pair of two headphones. Through its special circuit design, the A2 from Beyerdynamic offers impressive and true to nature and brilliant sound playback with an incredible resolution and spatiality. This device is constructed entirely from discrete components. The volume control is made from solid anodized aluminium; behind it is a premium ALPS potentiometer which allows level control via remote control. The adjustable output impedance ensures that the controllable range of the volume knob is ideal for all headphones, regardless if high or low ohm. The functions of the A2 can be controlled directly on the device or via the included infa-red remote control. Additionally, the remote allows the headphones to be individually muted.
With the switchable amplifier, the A2 can be perfectly tuned to the connected audio source. A microcontrolled, intelligent relay circuit prevents undesirable crackling during power ON/OFF as well as switching to another audio source. Gold-plated cinch sockets on the back serve to connect audio sources and allow for a lossless signal transmission. One output is connected passively with the Line output of the A2, whereby the signals coming though this input bypass the powered off device. The A2 must only be operated if you would like to listen with headphones. Two orange back- lit buttons allows for the selection of the signal source and display the activated input.
