In the 50ies guitar visionary and studio guru Les Paul was already working with the strangely wandering and slightly psychedelic sound of the flanger. It is therefore no surprise that the effect that is created through variable delay of the doubled signal became hugely popular in the 70ies when legends like Hendrix, Bowie and Van Halen used it a lot.

The Fame Flanger offers controls for Color, Range and Rate to define the sound as well as width and interval of the sweeps while two switchable modes "Filter" and "Normal" define the basic character of the effect.
