With the Jackson X Series soloist Archtop SLAT 7 MS Metallic Blue, the hard'n'heavy smithy from sunny California once again proves that it has its eye on the musical pulse of the time. The 7-string electric guitar with continuous speed neck not only offers EMG's popular active humbuckers for brute metal sounds, but also a scale length for each string that rises from 25.5" to 27", thus achieving a perfect tone definition.
The most characteristic feature of the Jackson X Series Archtop SLAT7 Multi Scale are undoubtedly the 24 jumbo frets of the fingerboard, which are the result of an individual scale for each string. For example, the high E string has a length of 25.5" (648 mm), which increases to 27" (686 mm) for the low H string. This gives each of them a fast response and a perfectly defined tone development even during extreme drop-tunings.
In addition, the fan fret offers an advantage in playing comfort, as it supports the natural angle of the hand when grasping chords in the low and high registers. The latter are particularly easy to reach due to the wide cutaways and the flowing neck foot of the neck-through construction. With its "Speed Neck" profile and the increasingly flatter compound radius of the Palisader fingerboard, the maple neck of the Jackson Fanned Fret 7-String also offers the perfect race track for riffs and licks at the speed of light.
The electric tone conversion of the Jackson Fanned Fret Soloist is performed by two active EMG 808 humbuckers, whose wide housings ensure that all strings are perfectly covered. The hot Alnico V humbuckers convince with their differentiated, yet powerful sound, which chisels riffs on the low strings with rich punch into the ear canals and on the high strings with warmth and velvety overtones.
To do justice to the multi-scale construction, the Jackson 7-String Soloist is equipped with seven Jackson single bars. With the string guidance through the body, the mono rails contribute to the tight sound development of the seven-string, while at the same time two-dimensional adjustability guarantees perfect intonation and string position. From the bridges, the strings with their individual scales are guided towards the head plate, where the plastic saddle guides them with a straight pull in the direction of the precise Jackson tuners, which ensure high tuning stability.
