Gewa and 405 black matt at a glance

The UP 405 from Gewa is an outstandingly playable digital piano with a classic, elegant look and excellent sound characteristics. The 88-key Concert Pianist II wooden keyboard with hammer action impresses with zone-weighted keys and pressure point simulation. The surface of the keys is covered with ivory-like coatings (Ivory Feel), giving the player a more grippy surface and significantly reducing slippage. With the large touchscreen, all functions are at a glance and quickly at hand!

Sounds

By using the latest DSP technology, Gewa has managed to implement high-quality piano samples based on Hamburg Grand and Vienna Grand in the and 405. The digital sound generation has a total of 30 sounds and another 128 GM (General MIDI) sounds. To get a sound as authentic as possible, details like key-off samples and pedal noises as well as the simulation of string resonances are also audible when played in the appropriate way. If necessary, the currently selected sound can be tuned to your own taste with reverb or modulation effects. Thanks to 256 voiced polyphony, the and 405 has enough headroom even when playing fast so that no fading note is swallowed.

Recording and sound playback

The recording function requires a separately available USB stick, but can record audio and MIDI. This is among other things helpful to check yourself, but also to replace a third and fourth hand on the instrument. furthermore is in the and 405 an MP3 player integrated, the music from the USB stick can be played and included in the exercises. The built-in Class D speaker system reproduces a good sound image even with quiet sounds. Two headphone outputs allow two people to play the instrument without disturbing others.

The Gewa and 405 is also equipped with a Bluetooth interface, which transmits audio and MIDI. This allows you to record both directly. So you can stream both directly to a computer with music software (DAW) for recording, use the digital piano as a wireless master keyboard or send the played sounds eg. to a hi-fi system. On top of that, audio and MIDI are also transmitted via USB. Thanks to the integrated keyboard cover, the keyboard remains protected from dust when not in use; it can be completely retracted into the housing as soon as you want to play. A music stand can be set up at any angle and can remain in place as desired.
