Makemusic enters the next round with finale 26 Academic and scores with new features, which extend the already extensive notation software. This includes, for example, automatic stacking of articulations, the interaction of legato arcs/articulations, tremolo for notes with and without neck, horizontal centering, new performance descriptions & articulations, libraries for chords and much more. Finale26 once again improves the workflow to achieve better results faster without having to compromise. The Academic Version is especially designed for students and is therefore offered at a reduced price (proof required).
Furthermore the Fokus focus was on general performance improvements, retina display support optimizations, various bug fixes and more to provide users with a high level of quality.
When entering articulations, these are now automatically placed on top of each other (stacked). If you remove an articulation from the stack, the remaining ones are automatically readjusted. If they are used again, everything is automatically rearranged, whereby manual optimizations are possible at any time.
When adding or changing legato arcs, existing articulations are automatically moved to avoid collisions. The extended "Options for legato arcs" dialogue box defines the minimum distance between the legato arc and articulations.
When you add a tremolo to a note, the length of the note neck is automatically adjusted to avoid collisions with flags or bars. If Tremoli is set to a whole note, it will be centered on the note. Even if other articulations are added, removed, moved or folded down, Tremoli retain their position on the neck of the note. Newly entered Tremoli automatically follow the improved positioning.
With just one keystroke you can now place 26 articulations from the note side to the neck side in Finale. Centered articulations are centered on the neck side of the note neck and not on the note head.
New presentation titles and articulations
The libraries for presentation titles and articulations have been optimized, extended and revised for playback to save time. Not only do they look better, they don't need to be created or reworked.
Finale automatically detects how to type chords to display suffixes the way you prefer.
Finale v26 has also been improved in many places to improve performance. In addition there is the optimized Retina display support, numerous bug fixes, new template documents and more. For a complete overview of all features, please visit the manufacturer's page.
