Meinl MB8 Ghost Ride 21", MB8-21GRThis ride is on the loud side I believe so it's more suited to rock-metal, but it's not extremely loud if you're not bashing it and that makes it quite versatile. The ping is clear and a relatively loud wash builds up as you keep hitting but it's a pleasing sound and unless we're talking about really quiet genres of music, it won't bother you. This ride is also quite bright (as expected from a B8 cymbal) so it's going to cut easily through heavy guitars/bass, with special mention to the bell which can be easily heard through anything. The special thing about this ride is that it's not exactly your typical B8 cymbal (usually associated with one dimensional sound, loud and bright). It sure is a B8 ride, but it is relatively musical and very pleasing to the ear in all its aspects. It cuts though but at the same time it has a bit of warmth. You won't be playing smooth jazz with this I believe, but it won't disappoint you for all around rock-metal and perhaps even pop.
