Drawmer 1970
is a dual mono/stereo preamplifier and FET compressor for microphone, line sources and passive instruments based on the Drawmer 1960 tube compressor. The built-in microphone preamplifiers are characterized by a very clean and direct sound and have all the adjustment options needed for professional use with a maximum level boost of 66dB (together with the master gain this is a full 86dB!). The compressor section has a typical Drawmer design and contains side chain filters that can emphasize bass and treble at the push of a button. In addition, the release time can be switched to program automatic. For use in mixing, the source switch is set to Line, so that the preamps are bypassed.
The Drawmer 1970's DI input is particularly rich in features: it contains its own 2-band EQ with special Bright circuitry. It is therefore predestined for acoustic guitars and passive basses, but also does an excellent job when recording electric guitar.
Like the other devices of the British manufacturer, the Drawmer 1970 is a real studio workhorse that reliably does its job when recording or mixing to single tracks or stereo busses and enriches every signal with its full and musical sound.
