Construction and woods
To ensure that every note can unfold quickly and over a wide area, the large body is equipped with a solid spruce top, which colors the tone with expressive midrange and treble frequencies. At the same time, laminated mahogany back and sides provide warm bass frequencies, perfectly complementing the sound. The heart of the DCE-S Lefthand Natural is undoubtedly the slim mahogany neck with a fingerboard made of selected hardwood that measures 43 mm at the nut. A flat profile allows especially beginners an effortless grip of the 6 steel strings.

Design and Hardware
The exterior appearance is largely defined by the fine maple bindings on the top, back and fretboard, which create a tasteful transition between the individual components of the body. In addition, the evenly grained top wood is adorned by a single ring soundhole rosette that perfectly matches the dot inlays in the fretboard. Precise die-cast tuners with screwed knobs complete the overall design with their chrome-plated hardware and guarantee easy tuning.

Another feature is the built-in pickup system, which reproduces the acoustic sound of the instrument in a very natural way, even when amplified. The extensive Red Hill side preamp makes it possible to boost the signal in the treble, mid and bass range by means of a Contour switch. Furthermore, the internal tuner with a large display offers welcome assistance, especially for beginners. A red status LED signals the player that the 9V battery needed for the pickup should be changed.
