The VOX StompLab 2G is a multi-effects pedal, featuring VOX's VT+ amp modelling technology and an expression pedal for added control over effects and volume.
The VOX StompLab 2G is a breath of fresh air in the multi-effects pedal market, as it has a simplified interface as easily approachable for beginners as it is for professionals.
The StompLab 2G features 104 effects, split into categories such as Pop, Blues, Hard Rock and Metal among others. There are ten variations on each style, and the effects, which are categorised as pedal, amp, drive, cabinet, modulation, delay and reverb, can be used mixed and matched to create user-made presets. The StompLab also features an expression pedal, for use with the pedal's Wah effect, as well as controlling volume.
The simple interface of the StompLab features three chicken-knob dials, for choosing effect categories, controlling gain or effect parameters and the effect volume level.
There's a built-in chromatic tuner and two footswitches for selecting presets. The StompLab 2G can be powered either by batteries or an optional AC adapter. There are 1/4" jack input and output connections, and headphones can be used on the output for silent practice.
The main features of the VOX StompLab 2G include:
A good product, no doubt about it. Really easy to use, no delay between effects (very important) and at a really good price.
It is very intuitive too and the effects are really good with a nice range of styles. Im very happy with my purchase. Recommended!
Durable metal construction. A tiny monster to carry everywhere inside a guitar case pocket. It has a lot of sounds suitable for many playing styles, not all of them superb (as expected). Easy to operate -edit. The wah pedal really rocks. Negative points: Only 20 positions for user presets and no power supply incluced. You should definitely buy one extra.
Overall, very satisfied!
Ive had two weeks to get acquainted with this little beauty.
I am certainly not disappointed!
While it took me a day or two to get comfortable with all the settings, I cant imagine not having this in my arsenal of products.
I dont gig much, but I do an awful lot of home recording- this pedal has saved me an awful lot of processing power in terms of digital effects and amps.
The volume pedal in-and-of itself is quite smooth in operation and quite intuitive for expression.
The wah has a bit of a sweet spot that you need to find, but once you do it is fantastic.
Some of the stock settings are a little bit crude, but once you get into making your own combinations you can eliminate this problem entirely.
The tuner works very well for both guitar and bass, and is better than the DI tuner in Garageband.
All-in-all, this is a sturdy (it survived two plane journeys in my guitar case- I cant say the same for my guitar!) , reliable, and has a reasonable learning curve.
Definitely a must-buy.
I needed a multi effects pedal for some home recording I was doing, this was perfect. Lot's of different sounds to choose from, very god for the price.
