What are shock mounts?

Shock mounts are special mounts that suspend a microphone elastically to protect it from unwanted mechanical influences. They are often used in studio, broadcast, and podcast recordings.

What are they good for?

They reduce disturbing noises that can be caused by vibrations, impact sound, or contact. This keeps the recording clearer, cleaner, and more professional.

How does acoustic decoupling work?

The elastic mounts of the spider absorb vibrations before they reach the microphone. This keeps mechanical impulses away from the microphone body and prevents them from being converted into audible noise.
