The Tama Imperialstar 5-Piece Acoustic Drum Kit Hairline Black is a 5-piece acoustic drum kit, featuring a 22x18" Bass Drum, 10x8" & 12x9" Tom Toms, a 16x14" Floor Tom, and a 14x5" Snare, and includes hardware, cymbals and a throne, with a hairline black finish. For the last 40 years Tama has proven to have a fine sense for the demands of ambitious drummers. Hardly any other manufacturer enjoys such a great reputation among both beginners and more advanced players. Based on this principle, the Tama Imperialstar 2014 is receiving a phenomenal revival with significant innovations. The popular entry-level set comes with, next to the Meinl MCS cymbal set, a Stage Master hardware package and pedal from the legendary Iron Cobra series.
The shells of the TAMA Imperialstar drum sets are made from Pappel wood and possess a wall thickness of 7.5mm. Pappel wood produces a full, warm sound combined with a medium attack. In order to achieve the best possible sound, the shell bearing edge is precisely cut with lubricating gel to 45° and thereby offers the perfect contact surface for the head. Low-mass lugs and Tama's patented tom mounting system give the shells there exceptional resonance and optimal vibration characteristics. Intricate and beautiful finishes complete the look. Consisting of an insensitive foil coating, the finishes of the TAMA Imperialstar drum sets, in contrast to other sets in this price class, are glued to the entire surface of the shell so that the premium look lasts for years.
The most striking and innovative new feature of the set is certainly the consistently proven Stage Master hardware package. Consisting of an Iron Cobra pedal, a snare stand, a straight as well as a boom cymbal stand, a stool and of course a hi-hat stand, drummers are offered an extremely robust, long-lasting and double-bracket hardware pack that leaves nothing to be desired - regardless if professional or an ambitious beginner. Included with the TAMA Imperialstar "READY-TO-ROCK" pack is a cymbal set from the Meinl MCS series. These harmonically tuned cymbals are currently the standard for ambitious beginners. The extremely fine lathing optically sets the bell apart from the rest of the cymbal. Through this process the bell produces a clear and assertive ping sound.
