The Rode X XCM-50 is a USB condenser microphone specifically designed for the transmission of the human voice. It delivers clear, full and natural transmission across the frequency range with excellent speech intelligibility, making it the ideal choice for anyone who wants to record, edit and transmit sound in real-time on a computer. The capsule, transducers, drivers and electronics meet all requirements for quality and reliability. Thanks to the built-in DSP and Rode X Unify software, important audio effects can be added to the signal in real-time and without latency, and it can be mixed with the computer audio. The XCM-50 is conveniently controlled from a single user interface on the computer.
The USB microphone is connected to the computer with the supplied USB cable and runs under Windows and Mac or Plug&Play - without trial and error and driver hassle. Due to the DSP-based calculation of routing and audio effects and the headphone connection directly at the microphone, the XCM-50 works absolutely latency-free. A table stand is also included so that the XCM-50 can be connected and operated without any additional accessories.
Rode X's Unify software allows you to merge and route 4 microphone signals and 6 virtual loopback sources in one clear mixer view. All audio signals can be sent to 5 independent mixes. The configuration of loopbacks and output mixes is chosen to meet the requirements of
The audio effects included in Unify first include important features such as Noise Gate to cut out background noise (e.g. from the keyboard), High Pass Filter to filter out unwanted bass and Compressor to increase speech intelligibility and volume. An additional Aphex Aural Exciter algorithm makes it possible to round off the voice recording so that it is suitable for broadcasting.
