With the Leviasynth Keyboard, ASM (Ashun Sound Machines) presents a 16-voicehybrid keyboard synthesizer with algorithmic engine synthesis. In terms of sound and functionality, the Leviasynth has a number of special features that are a welcome rarity in this constellation. The specially developed Polytouch keyboard is a velocity-sensitive 61-key keyboard with polyphonic aftertouch. The ergonomic pitch and modulation wheels have been adopted from the Hydrasynth and adapted to its own color scheme. The user interface was designed with minimal menu work (paging) in mind and functions are located one keystroke away. Eight encoders with LED ring and a touch display ensure adequate access to all parameters and an optimum overview.
Thanks to the chord function, the three-track sequencer and the fully programmable arpeggiator, you have three very powerful creative tools at your fingertips to work out your ideas on stage and in the studio. In multi-mode, the Leviasynth 2-Part is multi-timbral (lower/upper) and therefore able to play two different sounds at the same time. Ex works, the Leviasynth Keyboard offers an impressive 1024 memory locations for sounds and an additional 640 memory locations for multi-programs.
A small highlight are the five analogue control voltage outputs for CV, gate, Clock and two definable controllers, making this synthesizer the control center of a connected modular system!
digital & analog filters
The two serially arranged filters form the heart of the hybrid synthesis architecture. It starts with the digital Multimode filter, which, with 18 filter types, contains some very unique models with lowpass, bandpass, Highpass and notch characteristics, but also replicas of vintage classics and even a vocal filter (Vowel). This is followed by the analog 24dB Lowpass filter with upstream overdrive. This is a good way of boosting subtle sounds and gives oscillator mixes with classic waveforms significantly more bite. The analog filter in particular is a great enhancement for the overall sound!
The sound construction kit with endless potential
With the oscillator section, ASM has given the Leviasynth a unique selling point. The eight oscillators can be arranged in so-called algorithms, which determine how they influence each other. There are 144 preset algorithms to choose from, and an additional algorithm can be customized for each Patch. Furthermore, Algorithm Morph enables an almost unlimited number of oscillator configurations. Over 300 waveforms and 7 independent oscillator modes are available for each oscillator for maximum sonic variety. Configurations for FM sounds, oscillator sync and noise are also part of the repertoire. In short, there is much more on offer here than just a few oscillators that are waiting to be adjusted in level and processed with the filters.
A modulation Eldorado
When it comes to modulation possibilities, the Leviasynth draws on the full potential: There are five LFOs and five envelopes for each voice; the synthesizer offers eight separate envelopes for the eight oscillators alone! There is also an extensive modulation matrix with 32 slots and a randomizer. The haptic modulation sources around Display include eight macro controllers, the huge ribbon controller, two control voltage inputs, the illuminated handwheels for pitch bend and modulation and the keyboard itself. In addition to pitch and note length, the keyboard generates velocity and polyphonic aftertouch. The extensive options are rounded off by a complete MIDI implementation including MPE.
Effects
As the last link in the signal chain, there are three effect blocks to add the finishing touches to the sound. The typical modulation effects such as chorus, flanger, rotary, Phaser and tremolo, as well as sound enhancers such as EQ, lo-fi, compressor and Distortion are designed as insert effects. Delay and reverb can be used simultaneously and are available in five and four variants respectively.
