Traditionally Styled Offset Guitar
The J & D JM-40 SBL See Thru Blue is a classically styled JM guitar that combines top-notch playing characteristics with a surprisingly powerful tone for first-class alternative sounds. While the Offset-Design with asymmetrically designed alder body and bolt-on maple neck in C-profile promises a comfortable handling of the electric guitar, P-90 single coils and a tradition-conscious 3-way switching provide lively clean and overdrive sounds with high assertiveness. Besides the Vintage-Style Floating Tremolo and a vintage steel bridge, die-cast tuners complete the features of the J & D JM-40 SBL See Thru Blue.
The J & D JM-40 SBL See Thru Blue convinces with comfortable playing characteristics and a surprisingly powerful sound.
Four screws guarantee a secure connection between the offset alder body and the comfortably playable C-profile maple neck.
Classic construction
The tradition-conscious Offset-Design of the JM-40 electric guitar is realized with the authentic tone wood combination and promises first-class playing characteristics. Due to the asymmetrical design with ergonomic contours at the front and back, the alder body promises comfortable handling of the electric guitar both when standing on the strap and when sitting on the thigh. The pleasantly slim C-profile of the bolt-on maple neck also fits comfortably in the hand and promises fatigue-free playability in all positions of the 22-fret composite fingerboard.
Powerful J & D P-90 single coils with traditional passive electrics promise flexible tones for rock and alternative.
Powerful P-90 single coils
With its surprisingly powerful pickups, the J & D JM-40 turns out to be the perfect guitar for juicy distorted rock and alternative sounds at the guitar amp. The P-90 single coils placed at the neck and bridge are wound according to traditional specifications and not only convince with a dynamic response to the playing style, but also easily assert themselves in the Mix with a tight bass foundation and the extremely fat midrange spectrum. But also in the clean channel, the single coils convince with a full-bodied and harmonic presentation of single notes or chords. In addition to the 3-way toggle switch for selecting the pickups, volume and tone controls grant full control over the sound of the electric guitar.
Six die-cast tuners guarantee accurate and stable tuning of the J & D JM-40 electric guitar.
Classic style hardware
Last but not least, reliable attachments with authentic Vintage-Look complete the features of the J & D JM-40 SBL See Thru Blue electric guitar. A classic vintage-style floating tremolo serves as the tailpiece, responding smoothly to the long tremolo lever and decorating melodies or chords with gently shimmering pitch changes on demand. Thanks to the generous adjustment possibilities of the six string tabs, the Steel Bridge ensures exact intonation and comfortable string position, even when powerful strings are used to realize alternative tunings. On the headstock, die-cast tuning machines keep the electric guitar securely in tune even when the tremolo is used frequently.

The guitar was just needed a bit of tweeking and the neck pocket had a very small laquer crack. The main problem was the courier took 2 weeks from order to delivery . Not DV 24/7 fault.
Conclusion first! : Overall outstanding vaule, will definitely buy another one (waiting for the white one!). Arrived with a few problems with setup, needed a bit of work, but for 150 euro I wouldn't expect it to be perfect :) Neck is very playable for me, string tension seems to me to be really easy to bend strings - tension feels lighter than most of my other guitars, though same string gauge. Maybe it's just me.... The thing that knocked me out the most was the P90 pickups. I've been playing for around 40 years and never had P90 type pickups before, I realise (belately) how much I like them! Did get a bit of weird RF interference/60 cycle hum at first, though seems to have decreased now (now it's become accustomed to its new karma in my house?!). So unquestionably a fantastic buy, I have currently around 17 electric guitars, all types, but for the round crisp warm pickup sound, this is my first choice now for messing around in the house and recording ideas (currently I'm doing mainly ambient psychedelic drone-type stuff)!
