With the 8331AW monitor, Genelec offers an extremely compact 3-way monitor whose small dimensions make it ideal for use in post-production and broadcast applications. The coaxial system provides an ideal point source of sound with an absolutely linear, coloration-free frequency response for reliable evaluation of mixes and fatigue-free listening. The large sound path provides a wide listening zone and excellent stereo imaging. Two oval bass drivers deliver optimal directivity down to the lower frequency ranges. The speaker can be operated horizontally or vertically. The die-cast aluminum enclosure is robust and extremely low in resonance. The rounded cabinet edges prevent sound coloration. A protective circuit prevents damage when playback levels are too high.
Disturbing room influences can be significantly reduced by DSP filters or targeted calibration with the GLM2 measurement microphone/software. The IsoPod base included in the scope of delivery decouples the loudspeaker from the ground. In addition, the speaker can be tilted and precisely aligned with the listening position.
The Genelec 8331AW is ideally suited for near-field listening situations in broadcast, mastering studios, and television respectively video post-production studios.
