With the Rock Legend EBX, Toontrack expands EZbass with a sound library that is uncompromisingly designed for rock bass sounds. This expansion is aimed at productions in which the bass not only supports, but also actively shapes the foundation. From classic rock to modern, riff-accentuated guitar sounds, the Rock Legend EBX delivers exactly the right mix of tight low-end, punchy mids and clear highs that asserts itself in the mix while remaining musical.
The Rock Legend EBX is based on a carefully sampled 5-string whose sound is made for groovy, driving and powerful rock productions. The sound sits directly in the mix, pushes forward and delivers exactly the presence you need for modern rock arrangements as well as for classic band setups. This makes the Expansion suitable for hard riff songs as well as groove-orientated rock tracks where the bass has to work closely with the kick and drums.
With the Rock Legend EBX, EZbass gets a new expansion that concentrates entirely on the sound of a real rock work machine. The focus is clearly on assertiveness, attack and definition without appearing sterile. This is a very direct and practical approach, especially for producers who want to quickly add a powerful rock bass to a song.
For rock basslines to work credibly, you not only need the right basic sound, but also the right playing style. That's why the instrument was sampled with finger and pick playing styles, each including palm mute articulations. This allows the playing pattern to be adapted much more precisely to the song, style and arrangement. From open, sustaining bass lines to tighter, drier parts with more control, everything you need for authentic rock basses is included.
The tonal range extends from B0 to E4, creating enough scope for modern 5-string arrangements with additional depth.
A big plus point of the Rock Legend EBX are the 22 mix-ready presets. They cover a broad spectrum, from clean and classic sounds to gritty, raw and distorted bass characters. The various amp, cab and effect combinations have been harmonised so that they work directly in the mix and quickly lead to usable results.
Each preset also has its own control options so that the sound can be customised even more specifically to the respective song. If you want to start from scratch, you can also work completely individually with the DI preset and the multi-out option.
In addition to the instrument and the presets, a separate MIDI library is also included. The included basslines and riffs are based on various rock eras and provide musical ideas that can be used immediately. This saves time when writing, helps to find suitable grooves and makes the Rock Legend EBX particularly interesting for songwriters and producers who want to get from the basic structure to the finished track quickly.
