Faderfox PC12Great hardware midi controller. I bought it to control my Elektron Rytm, for which there isn’t really any alternative that has 12 rows/columns for the twelve midi tracks of the Rytm.
Build quality is good. It’s not ás solid and massive as I thought, but it’s a good balance between strength and weight.
Setup isn’t the most intuitive, but with a little bit of reading the manual and/or YouTube tutorials it’s easy enough to set up. English manual can be found online.
It’s strength is the amount of routing flexibility. Where most midi controllers will only work via usb and thus only work with computers or other usb hosts, these Faderfox machines work both via usb midi as well as 5pin midi cables. It’s got double midi inputs and outputs. I think there’s even options for merging midi signals.
Biggest disadvantage is it’s price, it’s simply a very hefty amount for just a controller. But it’s the only one that does what it does and fits all my needs, so its a worthwhile investment to me.
Outstanding build quality. Programming takes a bit of time, but that was to be expected with this amount of control. What I really like is that the controller is not designed for a specific use, it just has a lot of pots. No distractions, only a lot of possibilities!
