The modular system once developed by Robert "Bob" Moog went through a long production period between 1964 and 1981, including its development process. At that time, the new, electronic instrument was an avant-garde pioneering work that still had to be explained to the public, but ultimately found more and more interested parties. Behringer has transferred the generously dimensioned dimensions to the compact Eurorack format and paid close attention to ensuring that the sound and function are in no way inferior to the cult object.

The 921 VC Oscillator from Behringer is a clone of the analog oscillator of the same name from the famous Moog modular system. The distinctive and assertive sound with its very own "growl" has been inspiring generations of musicians for decades. The tone generator can be switched in six octaves and covers a wide frequency range up to 80 Khz; the module can optionally be switched to LFO mode. Sine, triangle, sawtooth and square are available at the main outputs. The Aux Oscillator follows the frequency of the main oscillator, but offers six switchable waveforms that can be tapped positively and inverted with their own level. There is a separate controller with CV input for the pulse width ratio. A small highlight is the so-called clamping point, which allows the starting point of the oscillator synchronization waveform to be set variably.
