Ludwig Classic Maple ShellSet, Burnt Natural

The shells are only 6 mm thick and consist of a total of 7 layers of the finest maple. The middle 3 layers are cross-glued and are bordered between two inner and outer layers. In addition, the unique Radio Frequency Shell Technology (R.F.S.T.) is used. This makes the Ludwig shells extremely robust. Appealing shell hardware and the noble Burnt Natural finish round off the overall picture.

The special feature of the three bshells of the Ludwig Classic Maple Set is that the core is cross-glued. It consists of three layers which are glued horizontally / vertically / horizontally in the pattern. Inside and outside there are two additional layers of maple, which are glued in the unique R.S.F.T. process and thus have increased stability. The Radio Frequency Shell Technology contributes significantly to the famous Ludwig Sound, which convinces with a lot of projection and fine overtones.

Classic shell hardware and 45° bearing edge

The entire shell hardware of the Ludwig Classic Maple has a rubber lining, which ensures smooth oscillation and a long service life. The badges on the drums are made of cast brass and significantly enhance the compact drums. The double-flanged hoops guarantees robust tuning reliability and still open sound. The bearing edge is exactly 45° and is only 1/16" of the outer edge. On the one hand, this very pointed edge produces exact head contact and simple tuning, on the other hand, it tickles soft overtones from the shells.
