High-quality woods and comfortable handling
With special attention to a lively and finely articulated sound with musical warmth, Paul Reed Smith chooses only high-quality woods for the PRS Paul's Guitar. Accordingly, the electric guitar has a mahogany body with a solid maple top and a gluedmahoganyneck with a fingerboard made of Honduran rosewood, in which elegant brushstroke bird inlays mark the positions. The not-too-strong "Pattern" neck profile with its perfect rounding also ensures optimal playing characteristics.
PRS TCI humbuckers with flexible coil-split circuitry provide musical clean and overdrive sounds with fine detail on the guitar amp.
TCI pickups with flexible switching
As pickup for the PRS Paul's Guitar Black Gold Wrap Burst Paul Reed Smith chooses two TCI humbuckers. Tuned Capacitance and Inductance (TCI), the pickups deliver a particularly musical and detailed sound to the guitar amplifier, which skilfully translates every playing nuance in both the clean and overdrive channels. Two mini-switches between the Volume and Tone controls also allow the humbuckers to be split individually, adding glassy single-coil sounds with a brilliant treble spectrum to the sound repertoire.
PRS Phase III locking tuners guarantee an exact and stable tuning of Paul's Guitar.
Optimally tuned hardware equipment
Last but not least, the PRS Paul's Black Gold Wrap Burst is complemented by hardware that is perfectly matched to the instrument. On the body, the proven PRS Wraparound-Stoptail is used, which supports the finely articulated tone of the electric guitar with brass inserts in the compensated string rest.
