The Yamaha BBP34 Midnight Blue is a four-string bass guitar featuring an alder/maple/alder body, a maple/mahogany neck, a rosewood fingerboard, and a midnight blue finish. The BBP34 offers a rich, organic tone with incomparable resonance and playability to inspire you to always play to the best of your potential.
Built with an alder/maple/alder multi-laminated body construction, a hard maple centre increases stiffness, accentuating the midrange to cut through the mix. This production allows a uniform transmission of vibrations between the body and the maple neck for a huge level of resonance and sustain.
A thin five-ply maple/mahogany neck improves playability and provides a versatile feel for modern and traditional players. A bolt-on construction provides a sharp attack and quick response, as well as durability. Lightweight tuning machines offer balance, complementing the overall feel of this guitar, thereby providing an ideal match for its small, light body.
This bass guitar is powered by split-coil and single-coil YGD Custom V7 pickups in the neck and bridge positions respectively. This set-up, with Alnico V magnets, produces a fat yet penetrating tone for an organic, well-defined sound. Customise your output through a tone control and two volume control knobs for versatility and flexibility.
A Vintage Plus bridge incorporates “Diagonal Body Thru Stringing”, where the strings are angled at the saddle and pass through the instrument to the bridge at a 45º angle. This significantly reduces stress whilst transferring string vibration to the body reliably and efficiently. The brass saddle of the Vintage Plus Bridge delivers a slightly deeper low-end, whilst a steel bridge plate offers a brighter tone.
Stress between wood and finish, neck and fingerboard, and body and hardware tends to release as a bass guitar matures. This results in a better sound and playability. Yamaha’s exclusive Initial Response Acceleration technology releases such stresses by applying specific vibrations to the completed instruments as part of the crafting process. The BBP34 delivers a “played in” bass from the first day.
