The Zoom H1n (White) is a limited edition professional mobile recording device that captures 24-bit audio at sampling rates of up to 44.1, 48, or 96kHz in WAV and various MP3 formats. An on-board Limiter ensures a distortion-free signal up to 120dB SPL, whilst a Low-Cut Filter goes a long way towards elimination of unwanted rumble, clicks and pops. One of the H1n’s rarer features is its ability to overdub layers of audio, giving far richer sounding captures. The Playback Speed Control allows for the transcription of music and dialogue without changing the pitch of the audio. There are also plenty of engineer quality of life improvements such as Auto-Record, Pre-Record and Self-Time, making sessions as painless as possible, and with the Tone Generator calibrating the H1n and a camera becomes a simple task. At the head of the device the inbuilt X/Y microphones mean you are always able to record, but a Mic/Line input is provided in order to use your favourite microphones or other sound sources. The Stereo Mix can be sent from the H1n using the USB digital output and this also allows for the H1n to act as a USB microphone and a microSD card reader.
