FabFilter Pro-C 3 is the next evolution of one of the most popular compressors in modern audio production. In addition to the tried and tested classics, Pro-C 3 comes with six completely new compression algorithms. From universally applicable to buttery smooth to deliberately pumping or tube-warm, Pro-C 3 covers an enormous tonal spectrum.
The sound of the new Opto and Vari-Mu algorithms is based on legendary hardware, without sacrificing flexibility. For modern productions, upward and multiband concepts such as TTM ensure creative dynamic processing beyond classic limits.
With the new Character panel, dynamics finally get color. Three carefully modeled saturation variants create harmonic overtones, subtle compression or deliberately audible analogity. The choice between pre- and post-compression opens up additional sonic fine-tuning - from a subtle sense of warmth to striking assertiveness in the mix.
The sidechain section has been massively expanded and now offers up to six EQ bands with filter types from the Pro-Q series. Each band can work independently in mid or side, including brickwall filters for absolute precision. This means that the compressor reacts exactly to what really needs to be compressed - no more and no less.
FabFilter Pro-C 3 is fully Dolby Atmos-capable and supports all common surround formats up to 9.1.6. The routing automatically adapts to your project, stereo linking works on a channel-by-channel basis and the level display remains clear at all times. This makes Pro-C 3 equally suitable for classic stereo sessions and modern immersive audio productions.
New functions such as Auto Threshold, Auto Gain and Auto Release ensure consistent results evenwith strongly fluctuating level material. The character of dialog, vocals or dynamic instruments in particular is retained without the need for constant manual readjustment. In addition, host sync triggering allows rhythmic ducking without an external sidechain signal.
