Product information - IK Multimedia Hammond B-3X

Everything the organist's heart desires

Hammond B-3X by IK Multimedia simulates a complete organ setup with B-3/A-100, floor pedals, Leslie, guitar amp and effects rack based on the latest modelling technology. The core of the plug-in is of course a lovingly recreated Hammond B-3 with 2 manuals + pedal as well as all the extras we know and love from the original: 2nd and 3rd percussion, Vibrato & chorus, crosstalk and key click. Sound wizards then get their money's worth in the advanced settings, where the details of these functions, the degree of ageing of the components, etc. can be adjusted. And for those who have always been confused by the black preset buttons, IK Multimedia has dissolved them on the user interface.

Of course, every Hammond has a Leslie, which IK Multimedia has also integrated into the software. Not only different miking (90°/180°) and their distance to the cabinet can be set, but also the series of the cabinet (122/147/3300W/Studio12) and the simulated amp type can be set separately, so that not only the beloved tube amps of the original Leslies can be mapped, but also the typical suspects for rock setups: "British Lead" and "HiAmp" of course hide the amp models used by greats like Jon Lord (Deep Purple) or Keith Emerson (Emerson, Lake & Palmer) on countless recordings. The basic character can be edited in each case with gain, high-pass filter, reverb and EQ. Even early hard rock sounds like from Deep Purple's Machine Head, Iron Butterfly or Steppenwolf are possible without any problems, since a second signal path with a guitar cabinet is available, which can also be shaped with an EQ and mixed with the individual Leslie microphones and the dry organ signal. In this way, modern bi-amping setups can also be realized.

Additional sounds are provided by the integrated effects board with Tube Screamer, 10-band EQ, Chorus Ensemble, Spring Reverb and Wahwah. A complete effects rack with FET compressor, Neve Style Channel Strip and reverb processor is also included for post-processing.
