About TAMA Drums & TAMA Hardware

As early as 1965, the Japanese company Hoshino marketed the first Tama drums, but at that time still under the name STAR. It was not until 1974 that the STAR brand was renamed TAMA. Since then, TAMA has brought many innovations in the field of drums and drum hardware onto the market. The name STAR has never completely disappeared and can still be found in almost all of TAMA's series names, such as the drum series Starclassic, Superstar or Imperialstar. The German headquarters of TAMA is the company Meinl Musikinstrumente GmbH & Co.KG in Gutenstetten.
