With the Neumann KH 350, Neumann is expanding its monitor range with a model that clearly leads the way in terms of performance, workflow and system integration. The loudspeaker combines the tonal reliability for which Neumann is valued in studios worldwide with a modern platform comprising DSP, digital integration and high manufacturing consistency. The result is a 3-way studio monitor designed to facilitate precise decision-making, whilst offering sufficient headroom to perform confidently even in demanding production environments.
The KH 350 is based on a contemporary monitor design featuring an 8.25-inch woofer, a 3-inch midrange driver and a 1-inch tweeter. This configuration is clearly designed for resolution, clarity and a stable soundstage. The legendary Neumann midrange driver, in particular, really comes into its own here, as it is precisely in this frequency range that vocals, guitars, synths and complex arrangements often make the difference.
Added to this is ELFF woofer technology, which enables extremely low distortion even at high excursion levels. This really pays off when the low end needs to be assessed not only as big, but also as clean and resilient.
The KH 350 operates on the sealed acoustic principle. This is an important detail, as it is precisely this design that is valued for its particularly controlled decay behaviour and a bass foundation that can be clearly assessed. This is a real advantage, particularly in control rooms where one does not wish to be misled by embellished low-end response. As a result, the bass does not sound spectacular for its own sake, but rather precise, tight and honest.
A key feature of the KH 350 is its integrated DSP engine, which both enhances the system’s capabilities and improves its integration into modern studio workflows. The full 32-bit DSP signal path ensures precise system alignment and advanced signal processing at a professional level.
Particularly exciting is the support for MA 1 room correction. Especially in real control rooms, where the acoustics are rarely perfect, this allows for significantly more consistent and reliable work. This not only provides greater control within the room, but also increases confidence in mixing decisions.
The KH 350 offers both digital AES3id inputs via BNC and analogue, electronically balanced XLR inputs. This allows the loudspeaker to be easily integrated into both traditional analogue set-ups and modern digital production environments. The analogue input impedance of over 12 kOhm ensures seamless integration into professional signal paths.
The input gain control operates from 0 dB to -15 dB, allowing precise adjustment to suit different studio configurations.
The KH 350 can be controlled both locally and via a network. This makes it particularly suitable for larger control rooms, fixed installations and professional multi-channel environments, where a loudspeaker must not only sound good but also integrate seamlessly into the overall workflow.
A major advance in the new generation lies in the improved manufacturing consistency. This is not just a marketing soundbite, but is of enormous practical importance. Particularly in multichannel set-ups and when working on demanding stereo projects, this ensures predictable behaviour, a razor-sharp stereo image and significantly greater confidence when making decisions regarding panning and depth.
A key technical feature is the integrated FIR phase correction. In the range from 60 Hz to 18 kHz, the KH 350 operates with linear phase within ±45°. This improves the system’s temporal coherence and helps to reproduce transients, localisation and the interplay between the channels even more accurately. It is precisely these aspects that one often does not perceive as individual effects, but which become very clear when taken together in the overall listening experience.
The KH 350 utilises highly efficient Class D amplifiers with an advanced limiter structure. Compared to the KH 310 A, the power output has been significantly increased. This ensures greater stability, more control and more headroom in day-to-day operations.

In addition, there are comprehensive protection circuits featuring soft-clip, peak and thermal limiters, a excursion limiter for the woofer, and temperature monitoring for the electronics and power amplifier. The crossover frequencies at 700 Hz and 1700 Hz are set so that each driver operates precisely within the range where it can demonstrate its strengths.
